Thank you to everyone who visited the display this year! It was, without a doubt, the busiest year yet. I met some amazing people who came to “listen to the lights” including 1st responders, a professional wrestler, a political dignitary, educators, the club-admins for the Ontario Chapter of Christmas Light enthusiasts, even a limo that stopped for a few minutes but didn’t roll down their windows (who was behind that tinted glass?) We were even serenaded by a family with a Christmas carol, complete with a guitar and saxophone!
Media highlights for this year included mentions on CTV, the Toronto Star, and of course a radio-interview with Those Dad Guys on Funny 820 AM radio.
My website, Facebook, and YouTube pages hit daily/weekly/monthly records over the past 7 1/2 weeks. Outside of Canada, these pages saw visitors from the USA, Spain, Poland, Australia, Kuwait, China, and more! The Top 3 videos for the year on YouTube were 1) Frosty The Snowman, 2) You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch, and 3) Dominick The Donkey! The most popular prop in the display was my neighbour’s “Ditto” sign...by a landslide!
To say it was an amazing time sharing some joy through lights, well that would be an understatement. Happy New Year to everyone, thank you to all who visited in person or online, and we will see you all again in November 2021!
